Who we are
FTCP History
In 1984, a new organization named Feed The Children Philippines (FTCP) sought to respond to the needs of disadvantaged Filipino children. It started by providing food, medical services and school assistance to children in Navotas, Smokey Mountain, and Valenzuela in Metro Manila.
Over time, it grew geographically. As it did, its program also took a much broader perspective aimed not only to give and serve others but also to build and work with them. The work now includes empowering parents and communities in rearing the young. By mid-2007, it has served more than a million Filipino children in at least 545 barangays, 48 municipalities, 18 cities, and 17 provinces nationwide.
FTCP was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 1989, accredited as an NGO and licensed to operate by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) since 1991 till the present. It has consistently acquired a Donor-Donee Tax Exempt status from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) through the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC). In 2002, it was awarded best NGO in Central Visayas by DSWD Region 7. FTCP is a member of the FTC international network based in Oklahoma, USA in 1979.
